A former Miss Georgia has died. Janie Collins passed away last week after a long illness at the age of 69. Collins was a former figure skater, married to skating entrepreneur Tom Collins--the founder of the Champions on Ice tour. Ms. Collins was the 1956 Miss Georgia and represented the state in the Miss America pageant.

Former Miss Georgia dies
Former figure skater Janie Collins, who once represented Georgia in the Miss America pageant, has died at the age of 69. Collins, whose full name was Rosalie Jane, passed away on Friday in Minneapolis after a long illness. The wife of skating entrepreneur Tom Collins, the founder of the Champions on Ice tour, Janie Collins was from East Point in metro Atlanta. She was the 1956 Miss Georgia.
