Georgia medical examiner under fire

Georgia’s medical examiner faces a lawsuit for allegedly harassing an expert witness. The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports medical examiner Kris Sperry urged officials at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston not to allow one of their residents to testify. Dr. Kelly Rose is expected to testify there are problems with lethal injection. Sperry is the expert witness defending Georgia’s right to give a lethal injection to convicted killer Jack Alderman. Alderman’s lawyer filed the suit against Sperry Wednesday. Sperry denies threatening or intimidating anyone.
