Duluth pharmacy ordered closed for fraudulent operation
State officials have closed a pharmacy in Duluth based on evidence it had filled a "significant number of fraudulent prescriptions". The Georgia Drugs and Narcotics Agency has closed the Sante Fe Pharmacy, following an order of Summary of Suspension by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy. The Board found evidence the Duluth pharmacy had fired its pharmacist in February, did not employ another pharmacist, and had no pharmacist in charge--all in violation of Georgia law.

National pharmacy test back on after UGA prof suit
A national licensing exam for pharmacists can be used again, after it was suspended more than a month ago. The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy has re-instated the test, after its use was stopped in late August. The Association accused a University of Georgia professor of giving test questions to his students. Starting today, the national one-time exam given to pharmacists leaving graduate school is back in effect. However, the national association says re-instatement of a Georgia pharmacy exam won’t happen until late November or early December. The association filed a lawsuit against UGA professor Flynn Warren Jr. The suit alleges Warren asked students to memorize test questions and share with him so he could create a review packet for students.

Suit vs. UGA prof suspends national pharmacy exam
A national licensing exam for pharmacy school graduates has been suspended following a federal lawsuit against a University of Georgia professor.
The suit filed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy alleges that Flynn Warren Jr. copied exam questions and passed them out in course materials to students. The suit also names the Georgia Board of Regents as a defendant. An Association official says the students who were to take the tests will be rescheduled later this year.
The exam is taken by pharmacy graduates across the country, which they must pass before becoming a practicing professional. Warren recently retired from UGA in July.
