A former Luthersville police chief received a sentence of five years in prison following his guilty plea to charges connected to sexual encounters with two women. Former chief David Yates made the plea Tuesday in Coweta County Superior Court in Newnan. Yates pleaded guilty to one count of false imprisonment and two counts of violation of oath of office from incidents last year. Following his prison term, Yates will be on five years probation, and registered as a sex offender.
