Ground has been broken on a seed oil processing plant in Hart County in northeast Georgia. It will employ 10 people and give farmers in northeast Georgia a market for their canola and sunflower seeds. It's the first of a series of canola and sunflower oil plants that Wintersville-based AgStrong plans to open throughout the southeast. Farmers will be able to process their seeds locally, cutting the cost of shipping the entire seed. Hart County farmers have contributed some of the $5 million in capital needed to build the plant. Davis says the plant will help support 50 farms.
