Flags will fly at half-staff on all state buildings and grounds today. The order comes from Governor Sonny Perdue, to honor those who died on this day seven years ago from the terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset.
A portion of a statement from Perdue: "An attack meant to weaken us only served to make us stronger. The courage shown by Americans, from ground zero to every
corner of our country, continues to inspire us as we vow to never forget those that lost their lives on that day."
