Georgia's Port of Brunswick is taking business away from its' rival port in Jacksonville, Florida. Governor Sonny Perdue announced that Mercedes-Benz USA will move its' import operation to Colonels Island at the Port of Brunswick within two years.
The move means another 50-thousand vehicles will be processed through Brunswick, on top of the 75-thousand the German automaker already moves through the Port. The move also means a transfer or creation of 41 additional jobs in Brunswick.
All of this good news follows the state investments in an overpass and deepening of the Brunswick Harbor.
