Georgia has a new Elections Director. Secretary of State Karen Handel has named Michael McCarthy to the post. Before coming to Georgia, McCarthy oversaw Minnesota’s elections for nearly eight years. Here, he will manage initiatives such as developing a centralized voter registration list and creating a paper trail for Georgia’s electronic voting machines.
