Board of paroles will wait on Davis case

In the high-profile death penalty case of Troy Davis, Georgia’s board of pardons and paroles says it won’t do anything until the state Supreme Court considers Davis’ appeal. Davis’ lawyers are set to go before the state’s highest court Thursday. They want a new trial for the man convicted of killing a Savannah police officer in 1989. Several witnesses who helped convict Davis have since re-canted. His lawyers say they have evidence another man was the murderer.
