Baker calls for protecting students in aftermath of Virginia Tech

A report from the nation's attorneys general calls on state and federal officials to examine privacy laws relating to mental health records in the aftermath of the massacre at Virginia Tech. Thirty two people died on April 16, 2007, on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, after (student) Seung-Hui Cho opened fire during morning classes. Many more were wounded in the attack, making it the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. The shooter later committed suicide. Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker, who created the task force that did the study, said students need a secure environment.
