The bill was sent to conference committee by the House in order to iron out what Representative Ellis Black (D.) of Valdosta calls "language differences." The bill, as is, would regulate animal infections disease by giving the Department of Agriculture police powers to enforce current laws. This includes search and seizure of trucks carrying plants or animals and the power to investigate on public and private property while carrying a fire arm.
