Delta Airlines will cut 1,000 more jobs than it had planned. The airline set a goal of cutting 2,000 frontline, administrative and management jobs, but more employees took voluntary severance packages, and Delta accepted all of them.
In March, Delta said it would offer the packages to more than half its work force.
Besides severance payments, employees who take offers are entitled to travel privileges and other benefits to manage career transitions.
