US Army Corp to decide fate of Thurmond Lake

The U-S Army Corps of Engineers could decide as early as Friday whether to restrict water flow in the Savannah River Valley. A spokesman for the Corps says it received more than 250 public comment on a plan by South Carolina and Georgia to reduce water flow through Thurmond Lake. If the Corps find there would be no significant impact, water flow through the Thurmond dam would drop from 3,600 cubic feet per second to 3,100 cubic feet per second. (Associated Press)
