High pollen counts are causing sneezing and red eyes across the state. Physicians at the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic say the pollen count soared to 1,727 on Monday. On Friday, the pollen count was only 151. The culprits, according to doctors, are birch, oak, sweetgun, sycamore and willow trees. The peak allergy season in the south is historically the second week of April.
