Gordon Lee Speaks

Rome comic book store owner, Gordon Lee, accused of giving lewd material to a minor is frustrated that his trial keeps being postponed. He is still awaiting his trial after nearly three years.

The trial was put off for a fourth time because judge was sick.

"We we’re really disappointed. We were looking forward to getting this over with so I can get on with my life," said Lee.

"When we walked in and found out the judge was ill, even tough I was disappointed about that, I would much rather have him sitting up there well"

Lee is charged with two misdemeanors: both counts for distributing material to harmful to minors.

Paul Cadle, Lee's Attorney, says the earliest he can get Lee's case back in court is November.

Trial date for lewd comic case

A trial date is set in the case of a comic book store owner accused of giving a book with a lewd image to a minor. Gordon Lee, owner of Legend Comics in Rome, is charged with distribution of harmful materials to minors. The Rome News-Tribune reports he will face a jury August 13th. Police say in 2004, one of Lee’s employees gave a child a graphic novel that included a nude picture of the artist Pablo Picasso. Members of the comic book community are coming to Lee’s defense and have already fronted $80,000 towards his case.
