School officials say a Savannah State University sophomore shot during a fight with another student remains in good condition at a hospital. But officials declined to release his name.
University spokeswoman Loretta Heyward said Sunday the student who was shot in the abdomen and arm was doing well.
Another Savannah State sophomore, 19-year-old Devon McIntosh, faces aggravated assault and possibly other charges in the shooting. He's being held in Chatham County jail. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
The shooting happened Friday morning at University Commons, a campus residential complex south of Tiger Arena.
All classes Friday and Saturday were canceled, but will resume Monday.

Shooting at Savannah State
Authorities in south Georgia were still looking for a suspect this afternoon in a shooting at Savannah State University.
Campus officials say the shooting happened late this morning at a school residence hall. Early reports said one student was wounded and being treated at a local hospital. A school spokesperson did not know whether the suspect had been caught, or if another student was involved in the shooting. The campus was locked-down immediately following the shooting. Cars are being allowed to leave the campus, but not drive in.
City and county police, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have been called in to help.
Savannah State is a historically black college on the south side of Savannah, along Georgia’s coast.

Georgia sports for Tuesday, January 8th
Georgia's football team is ranked #2 in the final Associated Press poll. The final rankings come in the wake of last night's win for LSU over Ohio State in the BCS Championship game. After LSU and Georgia, USC ranked third.
The NFL's Atlanta Falcons continue their search for a head coach and general manager. Monday, the team interviewed Philidelphia Eagles' G-M Tom Heckert for the Atlanta G-M post. Heckert has been with the Eagles since 2001--general manager since '03. The Falcons have interviewed at least three candidates so far for its open head coaching job.
The loss for the Savannah State men's basketball team last night made the record books--for the wrong reason. Kansas State set two NCAA records and tied another by holding the Tigers to four points in the second half in an 85-25 rout last night. Savannah State finished the second half 1-for-23, breaking the NCAA record for worst shooting percentage and fewest points in a half since the shot clock was introduced in 1986. The Tigers' field goal also tied the mark for fewest in a half.
