Georgia sports for Friday, June 13th

Atlanta Braves--

The Braves went winless in 3 games from Chicago, falling Thursday afternoon to the Cubs 3-2 in 11 innings. The Braves overall have now dropped 6-straight games. Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, Braves-reliever Blaine Boyer gave-up the tying home run. Into the last of the 11th inning, reliever Jeff Ridgway hit Chicago pinch-hitter Reed Johnson with the bases loaded to bring home the winning run. The Braves missed plenty of scoring chances in the contest, including wasting a bases-loaded/no-out chance in the 8th inning. The Braves' scoring came courtesy of Jeff Francouer's 2-run homer. The Braves tonight start a weekend series in California, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
