Escapee named "Most Wanted"

A Georgia man who escaped a state prison Oct. 13 has been added to the U.S. Marshals Service Most Wanted List. 52-year-old Johnny Mack Brown of Elberton was serving a life sentence at Hays State Prison in northwest Georgia, from where he escaped. He was convicted of shooting a guard 3 times during an armored car robbery in 1997 in Athens. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Brown's arrest. He is considered armed and dangerous.

"Most Wanted" suspect caught

A Columbus murder suspect on the run for more than a year is in custody. Authorities say they caught Michael Jason Registe on the Caribbean island of St. Martin. Registe has been on the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted list with a reward of $100,000. He is charged with shooting Randy Newton Jr. and Bryan Kilgore in the parking lot of Cross Creek Apartments last July.

"Most wanted" suspect shot by police

A man accused of trying to kill a Georgia police officer is dead. Darin John Richardson was killed Tuesday by Brooklyn narcotics officers. They say they shot after he pointed a gun at them – the same gun they say may have been used to shoot a Cobb County officer in 2005. Richardson was on the FBI’s “most wanted” list.
